The Story Behind the Journal

Healing begins with more than just medicine—it starts with the heart, the mind, and the words we give to our experiences. Breast cancer is a journey that challenges the body, but it also tests emotional strength in ways that words often struggle to capture.

As a breast imaging specialist, I have walked alongside countless women as they navigate the complexities of breast cancer. I have been there in the moments of uncertainty, when they come in for an initial screening, anxiously awaiting results that could change their lives. I have seen the fear in their eyes when a follow-up is needed, the way they brace themselves for what might come next.

During treatment, I’ve witnessed their resilience as they return for imaging assessments, sometimes exhausted from chemotherapy or recovering from surgery, yet determined to move forward. I have listened as they share their struggles—coping with physical changes, managing the emotional toll, and holding onto hope even in their hardest days.

And then, I see them again for their first annual surveillance mammogram, a milestone that carries both relief and anxiety. I’ve watched women take deep breaths before stepping into the exam room, hoping for reassurance that they are still cancer-free. Some arrive with renewed strength, embracing life with a new perspective, while others carry the weight of ongoing challenges.

Through it all, I have seen the silent battles they fight, the courage they summon, and the need for a space to express what words often fail to capture. It was these experiences that inspired me to create My Words of Healing—a journal designed to offer a voice to those emotions, a place for reflection, and a companion through the ups and downs of the breast cancer journey.

My Words of Healing is a compassionate companion, offering prompts, affirmations, and space for personal reflection. It’s a place where women can release emotions, find strength, and navigate their journey with courage.

No one should feel alone in this, yet so many women struggle in silence, carrying fears and emotions they don’t always have the space to express. This journal was created to be a trusted companion, offering a place to unload worries, celebrate small victories, and find strength in moments of doubt. My hope is that within these pages, women will discover comfort in their own words, clarity in their thoughts, and a sense of healing that reminds them they are never truly alone.
